Secondment Worker Visa
This visa route is designed for overseas organisations which have a high-value contract worth at least £50 million with a UK-based organisation, and the overseas organisation wants to send a suitable employee to the UK to work on the contract in a skilled role. The employee must have worked for the overseas company for at least 12 months. The employee can thus apply for a Secondment Worker Visa, either from outside or in some cases from within the UK.
This is a sponsorship route, and the sponsor licence must be held by the UK-based organisation and CoS issued by them. There is no English language requirement.
The visa is granted for 12 months, and it may be possible to extend it for a further 12 months, but it is not possible to stay in the UK for more than two years in total, and this is not a route to settlement.
