Who Should You Notify When Registering Your Lasting Power of Attorney?
You can notify up to 5 people when registering your Lasting Power of Attorney (LPA). We recommend that you should notify the people who are closest to you and who would be willing to raise concerns about your LPA. It is typical for donors to choose to notify their family and close friends.
Notifying people during the registration of your LPA (you notify people by including their details in a section of the LPA registration form) is important as it can act as a safeguard against you being put under pressure to make the LPA, or should there be a suggestion of fraud involved in the LPA registration.

Lasting Powers of Attorney (LPAs) are registered with the Office of the Public Guardian (OPG). The OPG helps people in England stay in control of decisions relating to their health and finance.
